Title 1

What is Title 1?

1

Title I is a federal program that provides additional funding to schools to help ensure all students receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education. The goal of Title I is to close academic achievement gaps and support students who may need additional help meeting state academic standards.

Our school qualifies as a Title I School based on the percentage of students who qualify for free and reduced-price meals. We are committed to using Title I funds to strengthen instruction, support student learning, and build strong partnerships with families and our community. Together, we can ensure every student has the support they need to succeed.

How does Title 1 support students at our school?

2

Title I funding allows us to provide additional support and resources that strengthen student learning, including:

Academic intervention and small-group support
Supplemental learning materials and instructional tools
Programs designed to improve reading, math, and core subject achievement
Professional development to help teachers improve classroom instruction
Family engagement activities that support learning at home

These services are designed to support student success and are in addition to the regular education program.

What is our school required to do as a

Title I school?

3

As a Title I School, we are required to:

Conduct a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) to identify student needs
Develop, implement, and monitor a Title I Schoolwide Plan
Complete a Fiscal Requirements Form (FRF) and Title I Budget Plan aligned with our school goals
Provide meaningful Parent & Family Engagement opportunities

These steps ensure that Title I funds are used responsibly and effectively to improve student achievement.

How can families be involved?

4

Family involvement is an essential part of Title I. We believe students achieve more when schools and families work together.

Families can:

Attend school meetings and workshops
Provide input on school plans and family engagement policies
Help develop and review the School–Parent Compact
Learn strategies to support learning at home

Parents also have the right to request information about the professional qualifications of their child’s teachers and paraprofessionals.
